This on-ramp is one of the main routes out of Zagreb east.―Anonymous

Good place for going to Varaždin, we hitchhiked right next to a sign saying it's not allowed.―Anonymous

this place is usually good if you'tre going to Budapest(varaždin), not really good if you want to go to Belgrade―Anonymous

There's enough traffic to be comfortable that you'll be picked up. We waited only a few minutes before we got a ride all the way to Budapest.―Yooks

Tuesday morning, not so much traffic, mostly local. We hoped for a direct lift to Rijeka which turned out not to be so likely but quickly got a ride to Zagreb.―Bfl

one of the 2 gas stations on the highway between zagreb and the hungarian border, traffic isn't very high but enough to catch a ride after a while―Anonymous

Got dropped off here from Zagreb on our way to Budapest. In case you are hitchhiking from Sesvete in the direction north, this is probably the only viable spot. There's not a lot of traffic passing, but drivers have space to pull over.Note: On the back of the traffic sign you can see notes and signatures left by hitchhikers.

Perhaps the last gas station before Zagreb if you come from East. Restaurant with ok prices and quite some trucks staying there overnight.―Anonymous

We were headed to Plitvic lakes. Some guy who lives in Zagreb told us that he will take us to Karlovac but then he took us little bit far then Karlovac. Nearer the Plitvic lakes―Untroubled_travelgirls

Bad spot for hitchhiking to Varazdin or Hungary but good spot if you go to Zagreb.―HUNmeszabi

quite good spot to catch a hitchhike to Hungary/Budapest, we were very lucky and some polish people gave us a ride straight to Budapest (we are also polish), but our friends that we left there hadn't so much luck and they were waiting there for someone to take them for 2hrs and they didnt even cross the border with that hitchhike so it depends―Anonymous

Not really a good spot, but this is probably the only place which works if you want to go to north and you were in the city before. We waited 3 hours, only 3 car stopped, but the first two went to wrong direction―Levente

This place is probably your best chance to leave Zagreb in direction of Hungary. We waited for 1 hour, but eventually one guy stopped and took us to Varaždin. That's where you should aim with your sign - there is a gas station there to try from. The stickers from hitchhikers are not there anymore. But it's funny because you're hitchiking directly from under the no autostop sign. Croatians are mostly picking up hitchhikers, but it all depends on the time of day and your direction.

It's not a good place for a couple we waited a whole afternoon then slept here in tent on the next morning we found a truck driver who took us to Croatia. If you are alone it can be good there are some trucks there and most of them willing to take one person. ou can go to Slovenia or croatia from here but come here only if you are alone.―Anonymous

Good spot. Enough place for the cars to stop, enough traffic and the cars are not fast.―HUNmeszabi

February 15, 2023. It was an okay spot, but it has less traffic than the new border crossing point. We got a ride to Zagreb.―szrekazs

very bad place, not much traffick, we waited more than 2 hours and some guy took us to a gas station on the highway, you should head there because it is the only way to get to north (we were heading to Budapest) (group of 6 girls)―Anonymous
